How I Build My Makeup Kit
Curious how I decide what products to use in my professional makeup kit? Keep reading for a breakdown of my process, which leads to a constantly evolving and always improving collection.
The Starting Point
Part of my tuition at The Art of Makeup School included a full makeup and hair kit. As I've worked various jobs, from film to Fashion Week, those products get used up and need replacement. That's when I see if there is a product swap I can make that improves my kit in line with my priorities.

1. Does This Reduce Waste?
Professional makeup artistry generates trash due to the necessary high standards of sanitation. Disposable applicators, from Q-tips to foam sponges, can pile up quickly.
When possible (as in, without compromising sanitation and in turn the health of my clients), I make swaps for reusable alternatives. For example, reusable powder puffs that can be tossed in the washing machine to replace one-use cotton squares and foam wedges.
